Need help with memory card

Hello everyone, i'm new to the pcsx2 world.I'm running ver. 0.9.6. I have a question about the memory card. I cannot save because the memory card is not formated .it then asks me do i wish to format. so i click yes,i get "Format failed" everytime .I've try to do it both from in game and from the start-up menu. If anyone can tell me how i can fix this it would be greatly

Try reinstalling pcsx2

Try formatting the card from the bios (use cdvdnull as cdvd plugin and "file >run cd/dvd").

ok so i reinstalled and now it doesnt pick up any memory cards. i got my other pscx2 from a torrent.i deleted it and got the one off the site. now none of my options will save

Try running it as administrator (right click) or moving the pcsx2 folder to a folder with permissions like your Documents folder.

WOOT!!!.....got it working finally thx alot guys....now all i have to do is sit and wait for ffxii to be done
