Net play on steam decks

My friend and I are trying to play online on our steam decks but for whatever reason we can’t join sessions together. We can see each see the rooms but just can’t join them. I’ve personally set each games internet settings to match per game for us and we can actually play Resident evil outbreak together but every other game does not work We tried THUG 2 and siphon filer the omega strain.
