New PC. Questions on PCSX2
#1
So I recently got a new pc, which should be more then capable of running PCSX2 just fine:
i5-4670k @4.4oc
8gb RAM
nVidia GTX 760 MSI Gaming Edition
Win 7 Ultimate 64bit

My question is, with that hardware what would be the recommended GS Plugin specifically, and which speedhacks and such should I steer clear from?
(Also was told by a friend of mine that MTVU is something I should definitely activate, wondering if that is true also or not.)

If you can avoid the EE timing and VU cycle stealing hack, then avoid them. If not, run at the minimum settings possible. Although I don't forsee your cpu struggling except in poorly emulated games.

MTVU is great, except for a few select games, for which there is a thread out there about this topic. Experiment with results. If you get poor results, remove the hack. Easy peasy. As always, use GSdx.

Well, I figured it's best to use GSdx, but which one? There's the sse2, sse3, sse41, so on so forth. Is there any major differences between them?

Avx or avx2 is best

sse41 on hardware mode.
AVX2 in software mode.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

There is no reason to use sse4.1

If you don't mind me asking, why is there no reason to use SSE4.1? I would think it would be the more recent one, but AVX2 is better for Software mode? That's what I have been using so far, Software mode I mean. But I had been using SSE4.1. Been replaying my old Kingdom Hearts games lol. Hasn't been bad, been running at a consistent 60FPS. Only had a slowdown occur when the Cerberus came out in the Coliseum. I'll try AVX2 though also.

I never said SSE4.1 shouldn't be used ??

Anyways, IIRC, avx & avx2 instructions are correctly used only in software mode. Hence my advice.

Read my comment.

There really is no speed difference in hardware mode when switching from SSE4.1 to AVX or AVX2. I find it to be a hassle to constantly switch between gsdx versions, so personally I would just leave it at AVX2.
