New guy here. Pcsx2 keeps freezing.

Hi there!
I'm a new user of this emulator. I tried running Sphinx on the emulator and keeps freezing whenever I press new game. I have a monster-pc I dare not say how much money I spent on, so the specs shouldn't be an issue.
I also tried turning off the speedhacks and changing the sound (saw on youtube that it might help).
Any help is appreciated.

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.

• Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  
• The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  
• Any non default settings you are using.
  
• What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

It says 1.0.0 on the version and I am trying to run Sphinx ISO.
Only settings i've done are switching off speedhacks and changing audio to Direct sound.

Care to give a try with your original ps2 DVD ?
