*some people say with interleacing codes look better in real hardware but i dont know if true, people can try patch with 240p codes only or combined.
im pretty sure tenkaichi kenkauden is 480p native... it came out originally on the atomiswave arcade system

I try before combo buttons, and web searching but everyone says is not progressive scan compactible, about atomiswave version info say original game is vga 640x480, many naomi / dreamcast games, porting process need to be ajusted to ps2, many 2d ports games report 640x448 or 320x448 resolution in game, i think programers cut or hide some lines resolution (performance, scaling, framebuffers scaling, double, etc) in shrump forums people with RGB monitors are testing this games and almost conclude best is have native 240p image for this ps2 ports (example last blade neogeo is rom 320x240 ps2 interleaced mode almost double to 320x448 is weird a looks bad apart bilinear ps2 mode) in the end looks better in original form arcade with this 240p modes some people says, retroarch pc flycast play this games in vga native mode 640x480 mode if you combine retroarch integral scaling looks better, retroarch fbaneo neogeo arcade 320x240 games using integral scaling by 4 times scaling good only missing some lines but looks ok (i like combined with crt shader), last build fbaneo for ps3 works too if you have ps3 modded;

i meant that there's no point deinterlacing that game since is 480p native (on arcade and 480i on ps2 i guess), if you're using OPL try GSM, or the 480p patch utility by asmodean

i patched last blade anthology to 240p and it looks perfect, no bilinear filter or bad scaling

i understand, i know GSM and other homebrew for ps2 (my ps2 die many years ago so no hardware available to test); this patches was a find another values for research or learning about ps2; in shrump forums some games are pending (like this games and some list games dificult to patch ) samurai t. and last blade has no native mode for progressive in ps2; i read some people want their ps2 versions patched already for test in real hardware and RGB monitors, for testing sake; in PCSX2 some parts has interleacing enabled, in my ps3, ps2 games run withow interleacing mode (ps3 emulation disable, mask etc) also ps3 make all games play in 480p mode (tested in my monitor) particulary ps2 2d games looks better in ps3, 3d games no so much, like you said, mayority games look better in main arcade emulators like retroarch flycast or fbaneo but some games has exclusives too, example last blade has arrange OST like neogeo cd version.

Rogue Galaxy (SCUS-97490, CRC 0643F90C) is one of the most stunning games of the generation. But it is blurry and could use some work if anyone is feeling up to the task.
