Not Running Max
#1
I have a very buffed up power computer right now (See specs in info) and I'm trying to max out my performance. However, I tried to run DX10 and even if you specify a D3D resolution, it would automatically convert into native about 450x600 resolution. Is there a fix to this? Blink. I am using a Intel i7 Core and I have no idea if it is using its full potential, at native resolution its peaking at around 300 fps without limit on FF X with cpu usage of 30%.. With further tests, i find that it can go to a higher resolution on DX9 but I believe it would destroy some of the capabilities of a DX10 graphics card. I am hoping there is a fix to this, thanks. :o

Alright updated. For some reason, i notice that it is also not recognizing SSE4 on a Core i7, is there such thing as SSE4? Or is this cpu a step ahead of the current version? Blink
PCSX2 Config
Graphics:
1680x1050
DX10
Aspect Ratio 16:9
D3D Aspect Ratio 1680x 1050 (Works on DX9 Smoothly)
Texture Filtering

CPU Config
SSE3 Compatible with Vista 64 Bit (If there is SSE4, It should show up D:< This is i7 omfg)
None of the CPU Multi Core functions are checked, But the EEec, VU0rec, VU0rec are on with limited speed.

You must remember, that pcsx2 could use only 2 threads, so maximum potential load be 200% from 1 core, which is almost never sustained. And i7 got 4+4 cores, so if you got 150% load windows show you 32% CPU. About "conversion", I think you have a misunderstanding. How do you know, what resolution does picture have? Window on desktop have no direct attachment to it.

Alright, even so can somebody give me a better explanation about resolution and how to increase it to its maximum? Is there a maximum? So far it doesnt seem like I can increase the resolution any more than the windowed version resolution. From the specs above what are some recomended configs for PCSX2? Thanks, I'm just trying to push it to the max. see how far it can go before the frame rates start dropping.

Try 4096x4096 in DirectX 10 Mode. Gives you some AA.

GSDX renders the image at the internal resolution and then stretches it to the windows size.
The 450x600 it displays is only the resolution the game would have on native or the real PS2.
