Nothing working
#1
So I've had this program on a few of my computers all running Windows 7. Well I decided to put it on my laptop which is running Windows 10 now and I cant load any games whatsoever.

I've tried: Lord of the Rings The Third Age, Champions Of Norrath, and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and nothing works.

Either I get one of the two following scenarios:

Step A: Launch program
Step B: CDDVD - > Iso Selector -> .37 file was Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance
Step C: BootCDDVD Fast
Step D: CDDVD plugin failed to open. Your computer may have insufficient resources, or incompatible hardware/drivers. Press OK to go to the Plugin Configuration Panel

Or
Step A: Launch Program
Step B: CDDVD -> No Disc -> .37 file (got it transferred to laptop)
Step C: Boot CDDVD Fast
Step D: Black Screen that persists until I close the program

It does this on all of the games. What am I doing wrong?

I dont have .iso, but .cnf and .37. I can delete them and retry if need be.

I'm assuming you've already gone through & configured the plugins?

And before you ask this is my 2012 laptop. My kick*** gaming desktop which was running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, Intel i7-6950X processor, and AMD Radeon R9 270x and nearly 32 GB RAM was toasted when Newegg.com sent me a defective PSU. Over $3000 worth of parts down the drain.

Use imgburn to make your disc images as iso since isos are the recommended format.
Just to be on the safe side you can also delete the avx and avx2 plugins.

Lmao...I converted them to iso with imgburn (thanks for that advice and I did get an update)....now I no longer get just a black screen. I get the "video" of the "playstation" starting up followed by a quick white bar across the bottom part of the screen and then a black screen

UPDATE: By switching Renderer: Direct3D11(Hardware) to Direct3D11(Software) the games finally loaded. Also has anyone ever played Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance on this platform? I am getting horrendous lag and choppy sound. Like everything is in slow motion no matter what adjustments I make.

I'm okay with slow but to the point it looks like a walking half jog? No...I've played Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance before on this laptop with PCSX2 with not this much lag. And we are talking about games that were made back in 2000. This laptop can handle Skyrim with little to no issue. Albeit on Medium (little bit of stutter) or low (runs flawlessly). Just trying to think of ways to increase performance to the point where it's at least "playable".

Wouldn't be a big issue since I got a PS2 in the other room but its hooked up to our only TV and its in the bedroom. Wife loves watching her shows while shes laying in bed, thus I cant always use it, since she also sleeps in there and is an absolute bear if she gets woke up

but with the half screen issue, or in software mode, i guess... but back then, the emulator was much less accurate.

unless you really want to look ridiculous, please avoid comparing emulation to native PC gaming.
it's a complete nonsense.

you could maybe use fast invalidation hack in latest git builds.
that helps quite much on snowblind engine games
