If the game has already higher resolution textures it makes sense, else I can't understand how it could create the missing pixels when increasing the resolution other than blending the already existent ones.

In time: smart adaptive algorithms can preview the pixel should be there at some extent, what enhances the detail at cost of some blurriness. Still never reconstruct actual information an original real higher resolution brings.

I had the bluriness as well and what I found was that if I played in 50hz it had bluriness, 60hz didn't.

I play on dx11, 3xscaled, texture filter on, 8 bit textures on, works brilliant, super sharp picture

Late post. For some ***** up reason, recording with FRAPS makes it look amazing, but it rapes frame-rate.
