Okami runs amazing but I can't paint

The game runs nice on my setup and looks amazing but the controls seem to stutter only when I have to paint. I'm stuck at the start of the game game because I can't paint the dragon because the cursor goes choppy and stutters when I try to paint, the game is running at like 60fps though so I don't get it, I'm running the PCSX2 Beta 1059 with the LilyPad svn 0.10.0 (r975) controller plugin and a 360 pad. Does this happen to anyone else?
