Optimal Settings For Dirge of Cerberus FFVII Fullspeed?
#1
I'd really like to play this at 60 fps, and I've been trying with every new build, but it's seems that the compatibility list shows it as fully running finally, on v1.0.

so, I'm hoping someone else has played it, and could give me an idea for the optimal settings for playing it at 60 fps.

also, i forgot the names of some plugins, but i'd love to play it M/K instead of controller if it's possible.

Your GPU should be enough pulling 3x Native resolution, the only bottleneck here is your CPU since it's clock rate were not that great...

Try compensating them with speed hacks enabled and play around with those sliders...

hmm...so do you think it's possible to play at full speed? the last time i tried i ended up with severe lag, unless i was staring at a wall. but that was on 0.9.8

I'm not promising anything Tongue, it's better if you try it first...

haha, ok. i'll have to try it out later. maybe it'll provide some useful information for some people, since DoC seems to be one of the most intensive ps2 games. (btw, i can run FFXII and KHII at higher resolutions than the ps2 at 60 fps. of course, this was also on 0.9.8, and wheni had my GTS 250)

try the latest Speed hack called MTVU which allow PCSX2 to utilize a 3rd core Smile

onto another question. which version of GSdx is best to use? i see SSE2, SSE41, and SSSE3. i've always wondered what the differences in these actually are.

Use the SSSE3 version...

But there is only minor differences in performance though...

Test #1: Default Settings - Game runs ~25 Fps.
Test #2: Switching to DX11 (Hardware) upped fps to ~32.
Test #3: MTVU - ~34 Fps.
Test #4: VU Cycle Stealing 1 - ~33 Fps. (Turned Back Off)
Test #5: EE Timing Hack - ~33 Fps. (Turned Back Off)
Test #6: EE Cycle 2 - ~32.5 Fps. (Turned Back To 1)
Test #7: Disable Framelimiter - ~32 Fps. (Turned Back...On?)

Also, i've noticed somethign strange. the screen seems to be distorting colors on each half of teh screen. one half has a black sky, the other half is white. seems to make some screens go half black too.

EDIT
====
anyone interested in helping out any more, folow this post, it's going to be updated for additional tests.

EDIT 2
=====
Guess i'll have to screw with it more later, and maybe consider overclocking. what would be an "Ideal" CPU speed?

Try posting screenshots too (press F8 while on the game window)

If you disabled frame limiter and still got that much fps, then it's likely your CPU is getting the strain. you'll need a more powerful CPU to run it smoothly.
