Optional ways to save a game?

So I started Growlanser III and then soon found out that it suffers from a save glitch which freezes the game almost every time you go to save the game.

What I want to know is there any other way to save my game? Like save states? A save that will stay even after I close PCSX2? I'm not entirely familiar with PCSX2 so please bear with me.

Yes, there are save states in pcsx2. F1 to save and F3 to lead. Just don't depend on them as they can fail due to corruption of the file.

Thank you. For a while I could not figure out how to load the game after closing PCSX2 and coming back. The options were greyed out. But then I clicked back in the game and hit F3 and it took me back. Cheers!
