PC System help
#1
Sup everyone,

I recently started using PCSX2, but unfortunatly I think my PC might be a bit slow cos some of the games I've tried (Rugby 08 and Fight Night Round3) run slow and are pixelated.

I was thinking of doing some upgrades to my computer, but I'm not too sure what sort of upgrades would really be neccessary.

Here are my PC System specs (as per System Properties):

OS : Windows 7
Processor: Pentium® Dual-core
CPU E5700 @
3.00GHz 2.99GHz
RAM : 1.00GB
System
Type : 32-Bit OS

Gaming wise, I'll probably only be playing consol emulators and I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me in determining what to upgrades would be helpfull and approximate costs (currency prefferably in Rands as I'm South African, but any help would be appreciated).

Thanks!

Can you provide us with a budget you have in mind? It'll make it easier to suggest components.

My specs are in my signature, I can run pretty much any game on this rig, except some that are just plain bugged or don't work.

Just for reference: how much is an i5-3570k worth where you live?

Going by a currency converter, 1000 Rand doesn't seem like much, but those converters often don't tell the whole story regarding spending power.

More ram and a dedicated gpu would be beneficial.

^That.

Well, I have a pc with similar spec's but with gpu and more ram, it's not that good, but with correct settings, it could play pcsx2 well enough.

You definitely need to get yourself a video card. That would definitely give you some fps gain.

I'm shocked you can run anything with Windows 7 as your OS on 1GB of RAM. PCSX2 doesn't use much RAM anyways. The highest I seen it use is maybe 500mb and average is like 220mb.
