PhysX is an nVidia only thing. It's a hardware accelerated feature.

nVidia bought PhysX/Ageia a while back, and it's integrated into their 8800 series and later cards. PhysX 7 is pretty outdated now, it's up to 9.09.0408. You could, and I think still can buy a separate PhysX card from like Ageiea and ASUS, but they are like $200 I think and eat up a PCI slot.

So, it's not actually nVidia only, but you aren't getting anything out of it with an ATI card unless you have a separate PhysX card.

but it still possible that other company make a program like physx and be assimilated by Ati, is not wrong to make a program that makes the same thing as physx with diferent code?

No, because you'll run into a driver conflict.
ATI are working on there own physics, or it's rumoured. I forget.

I notice when i run fraps my frames per second can be cut in half so i not only want to be able o run it smooth but run both of those programs right.I'll be shooting for as high as i can take it so Sythedragon if i do it get at that speed stable ill send you a pic Tongue

ATI is supposedly working with the Havok people to get some special Havok perks. I sure hope that isn't the case because Havok is pretty popular.

The Havok engine is like... the most common physics engine around lol.

Yeah, but I don't want to miss out on some new graphics features because I don't have an ATI card. I could care less about PhysX, honestly. I never really notice it doing anything.
