PCSX crashes in Linux
#1
Hi,

I am new to this emulator. What attracts me to it is the professed ability to play from iso images (I have an autistic son, and the disks do not last very long).

Following the instructions on the main download site, I installed and configured 0.9.7 as instructed for Linux.

When I click on either of the "Boot CDVD" menu options, the system crashes with no error message. If I launch it from the command line, the message after the crash is "killed".

I tried installing 0.9.6 and noticed that there was a "File" menu. This isn't present in 0.9.7, was it supposed to be?

Unfortunately, 0.9.6 doesn't seem to respond to the joystick (MS XBox 360).

I don't see any instructions on the site for actually loading and playing games, so I don't know if what I am seeing is the way it's supposed to look or not. Screenshot is attached.

moving to support, not a bug report

Try to use some real plugins for the video (libzzogl) and for the pad (onepad).

Wow... how did I miss that!?

Can you recommend a plugin for USB, FW, and DEV9?

Thanks in advance.

For others null are ok. The important one are plugins/video/sound.

Thanks Gregory...

The game pad doesn't get recognized though... :-(

Strange. The code uses the SDL library to detect the pad. First check that your pad is working.

Example: jstest /dev/input/js0

Check also that you does not have too joystick drivers intall in xorg, only xserver-xorg-input-evdev must be install (on recent distribution)
