PCSX2 0.9.6 slow frame rate and crashing
#1
Hi guys,

I'm having problem playing any PS2 games at a decent speed on my PC. It seems that whenever there's a scene with 3D graphics the performance degrades to 30fps and it's really choppy.

Also if I choose ZeroGS 0.95.2 (either ones) PCSX2 crashes on me. However ZeroGS 0.97.1 does work.

I'm also using SPU2-X 1.1.0 for the audio.

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? Thanks in advance for the assistance.

My comp specs are as follows

CPU Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz

Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX
Total available graphics memory 2175 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 768 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 1407 MB
Display adapter driver version 8.16.11.9107
Primary monitor resolution 1920x1080
DirectX version DirectX 10

Audio card: Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 Slim

Total amount of system memory 4.00 GB RAM

Using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.

Thanks for your reply! I actually uninstalled the whole thing since I had an older version installed previously and I think that was causing some of the issues.

I'll give gsdx a try and see how that runs and post if my results are any better. I did actually get some games to run but i had to bump the speed up to 3x to get it running normally.

Alright things are running better with the gsdx dll... just wish Metal Gear Solid 3 would run a bit more smoother. Those leaf and grass textures really bog the game down.

you can use speed hack if slow, and tweak the cpu for frame rate
