You probably miss a key dependency somewhere. What distro? 32 or 64 bit? How did you install pcsx2? Compile yourself or PPA/Arch repos/whatever?
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
(I am no longer a Windows user)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti

Try this command in terminal... ldd /usr/lib/games/pcsx2/libGSdx-0.1.16.so

I am using x86_64bit and it was installed via the ppa Unstable branch considering compiling myself if I am unable to find a solution with all of your help thank you for the quick response.... if it helps I use a custom mainline kernel though nothing dealing with Opengl or builtin graphics drivers is changed... and as all other opengl applications work as they should.... Here is the log of ldd

Alright got the problem fixed it was a bug in the latest binary Nvidia driver install script that was causing the 32bit drivers to not compile or install but was also not throwing an error

Thanks for the assist at least if anyone else has the same problem we will know why... thankfully it wasn't a plugin issue
