Originally PCSX2 worked fine. When I did an in-place upgrade for windows 7 home premium for my laptop, PCSX2 starts up fine and the fps is fine. But immediately the fps starts to gradually drop to 4 fps. All the settings from before are the same. I even upgraded to the newest svn. I checked a few PC games and other emulators and they seem to be working fine. What could be the problem?
(I reinstalled my graphics card driver, java, silverlight, and direct x won't reinstall because it says that it is up to date already btw.)

I have deduced that something is up with either x360ce or pokopom. When I changed input plugins, pcsx2 had high fps again and worked. But when I went back to pokopom, 4fps again. So I went to check pokopom out on project64. I do not hear the initial beep from x360ce and it shows me 'no controller' in-game. I do however hear the initial beep from PCSX2 from x360ce. So I go and test x360ce with initial beep on PC games again. It works with no problems. I went and got new versions of pokopom and x360ce, same thing happens. Again, they were all working before the In-Place Upgrade.
I tried with PCSX2 5541 and 5546. Pokopom 108 and 109.

I'm using my ps to usb radioshack adapter with my ps2 controller because I took my ps3 controller back for a refund.
How come it worked fine before but not now and how come the pc games work with it?

Figured it out. Even though everything seemed fine with the installation of the drivers, it wasn't fine. Repairing the drivers from the driver CD fixed the issue. Thanks anyway for trying guys. I appreciate it
