Every time I double click on the screen and go fullscreen mode my display goes dim and sure enough, in the "display properties" on Windows, the HDR is checked off. Not one single other emulator behaves like this for me, even the "old" PCSX2.
What the hell, Stenzek? I thought you were the coding wunderkind?

I even set it up to boot in Borderless Fullscreen mode. Even busted-ass New Vegas doesn't behave this way. I simply see no justification for the emulator to even touch my HDR in this instance. I have an rtx 3060. Again, no other emulator or game behaves this erratically for me.
Does Borderless Fullscreen mean something else when it comes to PCSX2? In my mind, I always imagined Borderless mode as a mode that wont seize control of your display as much as a straight up "Fullscreen" mode. So something seems off with the way this emulator implements it. Anyway, thanks for engaging with me.

The screen dimming isn't unique to just PCSX2. It happens with other apps too. Like, for me, it also happens with ScummVM, Redream (a dreamcast emulator) and a few other apps I run. it's an issue with HDR and how it interacts with some apps. I googled how to fix it, but never really found an answer. I just turn off HDR, and turn it back on in Windows Display settings after I run any of the apps that make the screen dim. But you can google the problem and see if you find a solution that works
Windows 11 64 bit OS
Intel Core i9-14900K
Geforce RTX 5070 TI 16GB
64 GB DDR5 RAM
