Ati cards do not give good performance with pcsx2, only Nvidia cards give better performance.
so an 8600GT will perform better than the HD3650. However this is the case only related to pcsx2.

I think this depends a lot on the GPU. My 4870 512 mb has been doing a good job until now, and the only games I notice a BIG impact on speed are those that can't be emulated at 60 constant fps for different reasons.

4870 is a high end card, if you have that, any slowdowns that you experience would be because of your cpu and not 4870.

I'm currently running my pc with Phenom II x3 720 BE.(Overclock to 3.4 Ghz). This is a HUGE upgrade from Athlon X2 4800+.

Performance of PCSx is greatly improve over Athlon x2 @ 3.0 Ghz. the latter look like crap in a sudden. I can say that Phenom II is much faster than AthlonX2. Especially for PCSX2.

The speed is real fast and enough for any games i've tried.
