PCSX2 Problems could anyone help me out?
#1
Hello there everyone. Three or two weeks ago, my PCSX2’s emulation worsened a lot. Games that used to run smoothly at 50 FPS now suffer from consistent frame drops; they seem stuck around 35-40 FPS, while on menus and intros FPS are normal. I’ve tried everything to solve the issue: updating my drivers, cleaning my laptop, updating my OS, performing malware scans, cleaning up my hard disk, setting my power plan to High Performance, etc. But none of these solutions worked -  my CPU also isn’t overclocking or overheating, the temperatures are normal. Below you can find my PC specs:

HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw0xxx
AMD Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega (4 cores, 8 threads)
8 GBs of RAM (6.92 of which usable)
64 bit system
Windows 10 Home

I’m using and I’ve always used PCSX2 Orphis versions, and my games used to run smoothly for more than two months. All of a sudden, they’re now slow. What could possibly be the problem? Thanks in advance.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

I’m aware that the Sly Cooper games are quite demanding, but they used to run very smoothly before and barely slowed down. While I manage to get 50 FPS in some points, the overall game doesn’t nearly run as good as it used to before. And yes, it ran smoothly on 1080p as well. Lowering the resolution doesn’t help at all now. I’ve also tried using multiple emulation and audio settings, but the game still runs slow.

That's to be expected with a CPU str around 1800 where sly series would require above 2000
