PCSX2 - Widescreen Game Patches
I converted ElHecht's widescreen patch for Samurai Warriors 2 Empires (PAL) [2FF26DC2] for use with the US version [3D3D9A58]. I also made a widescreen patch for Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends (U) [C22D5152].

I know this is a PS2 forum and I don't think anyone has done it before, but can anyone help make FOV codes for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix (Japanese version, English patch by Keytotruth) on PPSSPP?

https://www.romhacking.net/translations/2232/

I have a friend playing it soon and the game has a notoriously low FOV which makes a lot of people get motion sickness.

I would like to pull back the camera so it looks like KH2.

https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5B...@._V1_.jpg

A code for FF7 Crisis Core would also be appreciated.

PPSSPP has its own cheat system too and its own version of pnach files so it should be possible to make such a code.

You can zoom by combining X-Fov(decrease) and Y-Fov(decrease).
----------------------------------------------------------------
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix

patch=1,EE,00110644,word,3c0143d6 //render fix
patch=1,EE,00110b30,word,3c013f19 //3c013f4c X-Fov
patch=1,EE,00110b34,word,3421999a //3421cccc

patch=1,EE,00110b40,word,3c013f57 //3c013f57 Y-Fov
patch=1,EE,00110b44,word,34210a3b //34210a3b
----------------------------------------------------------

If you are zooming out,  have to modify render fix.

I appreciate the effort, although I said Birth by Sleep Final Mix on PPSSPP, not KH1.

I request to make a widescreen patch for pitfall the lost expedition NTSC version. You can load the first level in pcsx2 by enabling ignore dmac writes when busy gamefix.

This one for Tales of Abyss works in a real ps2 ............. the updated on in the patch archive doesn't, and can't use pnach on it or omniconvert .............. sticking with the old one (big thanks for updating "wild arms alter code F", been ages since I checked!!).

Fatal Frame II Black Screen Fix (at least on the hardware) (maybe pc too)
....................
rebuild the image:
1. cdvdgen1.2 (cd/dvd-rom generator version 1.20)
2. ultraiso (extract all files to a folder, and just drag them into the cdvdgen1.2 window
3. ultraiso (select file "properties/label ...... fill that in or leave blank accordingly .... producer name is PLAYSTATION)
(that is for volume information in cdvdgen)
4. gdvd iml2iso [email protected] (export the iml file from cdvdgen and build the iso image)
......................
use the Fatal Frame 2 patch in the archive now, just like that don't edit it and FMV/cinematics are fixed.
(used the pnach patcher 1.03)
......................
with Fatal Frame 1 and 3 patches in the official package:

YOU CAN DELETE the "fmv's fix" to get full screen FMV's, but you need to have those lines there for Fatal Frame 2, or it won't fix the cinematic/fmv black screen issues.
.......................
.......................
Reason being:

(probably they wanted the screen to skip a few frames like less than 5, for a split second signal loss that wasn't processed between some graphic transitions, for whatever reason, guess easy way to do that is thorough dummy sectors in the format ..................... ? ............. like the recent NES "crystalis" no screen jitter patch) (anyway)

(if you google you will notice to rebuild a ps2 image, or to shrink it (like you need to do for starwars battlefront 1 and 2 for the system.cnf patch hdd fix, they made those tutorials more complicated needlessly, but all that isn't used, that is over time ofcourse, if you use the "internet time machine" then that should be more apparent if they hook that up to basic searches, unfortunately all that is deleted stuffs)
.................
.................
mega man x collection ................. had this idea of just pluggin a component to hdmi (only wires connected nothing special form ebay, think it was a few pennies) to the component splitter, to see if that serves like a more expensive brand..........doubt it will work, I got the stuff it was cheap, almost 2-3 years ago, and about half that time, is probably the last time, I check in about the wild arms alter code f patch, big thanks on that one!

EDIT - Tales of Abyss

patch=1,EE,0032E004,word,00000000 //Activate Internal Widescreen (Vert-)
patch=1,EE,0019435C,word,3C013F40 //Camera Zoom
..................
..................
Thats all you need in the pnach file, in the current archive, you don't need anything else, because it looks really ugly to have some screens shrink and some not and stuff floating around.............the current patch as it is in full won't work on real ps2, the suggestion was to delete about half the contents a few pages back, that just won't do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO

With Tales of Abyss the internal progressive mode with GSM activated or with the old patch, just causes freezing.

(component switch to component cable to hdmi cable (cable only connected that way doesn't work) ("RASFOX" rca to hdmi, its cheap should work for Megaman X collection, as well as everything else to put into progressive ? without using progressive modes ............... those devices are cheap now, 10 or so years ago, they would go about 100 dollars apiece!!!!!!!!!!!!)

BIG BIG EDIT

I noticed in the current version of Open Ps2 Loader, it has additional option to help fix progressive scan in many games (in GSM option before launching a game menu).  (I gave up my upscaling quest!!! ................. E-SDS High Definition ............ reason being, the economical answer doesn't use component, so on the render side, the "renderer internally on the console", should perform the upscaling for best results, that makes Raspberry PI4 (in current development for RETROPIE) more feasible than the ps2 for megaman x collection, and gunbird (240p//320x240) games with that issue).

(The Good News is that if you play the Arcade Collection games like TAITO Legends 2, then you can see "Darius Gaiden" is a quality port of Darius Gaiden you can compare to the saturn, so those retro games work fine.................but..................I did notice a dip in quality in performance for the Midway Collection games (Capcom and Taito Arcade Collection seem to perform better).

EDIT

Grandia 2 1.01 works (no modes in OPL), now, (so it was probably my mistakes) only with this line in the patch:
(renamed the notepad file to current CRC32 of the file also ............. for grandia 3, just add controller remap to joystick value, didn't have to remove from pnach)

nice to see a OPL user around here...

BTW

is it possible to port these two codes: 2019206C 00000000 / 2025A2D8 24030000 to the PAL release of GT3 Tokyo/Geneva

the first code is from the NTSC-J version of Gran turismo 3, and the second one is from the NTSC-J GT3 Concept Tokyo

the game uses the same engine and everything... i guess
