Also, is it necessary to split the documentation page into further sub-pages? This seems unnecessarily confusing to me. But maybe others disagree, I don't know.

You mean navbox (panel at the bottom of the page) or tabs (at the top of the page)? I desperately wanted to try these tabs out so I splitted your articles index into three pages, one index for each tab. You can remove them now if you don't like them I admit they aren't entirely useful in this case. But you'd have to build the index page yourself then (or you could unite the three navboxes into one navbox and use it as the main index).
