Bug
I just downloaded PCSX2 r5875 on my Windows PC, and in the console window I get this:
* SPU2-X: Enumerating PortAudio devices:
*** Device 0: 'Primary Sound Driver' (Windows DirectSound)
*** Device 1: 'Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows DirectSound)
*** Device 2: 'Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows DirectSound)
*** Device 3: 'Digital Audio (HDMI) (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows DirectSound)
*** Device 4: 'Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows WASAPI)
*** Device 5: 'Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows WASAPI) (selected)
*** Device 6: 'Digital Audio (HDMI) (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows WASAPI)
*** Device 7: 'Speakers (HD Audio Headphone/Speakers)' (Windows WDM-KS)
*** Device 8: 'SPDIF Out (HD Audio SPDIF out)' (Windows WDM-KS)
*** Device 9: 'Output (HD Audio HDMI out)' (Windows WDM-KS)

It's in red, and Im getting absolutley no sound from the program. How do i fix this?

Nevermind, fixed it, I found out how to put in directaudio, but still, this shouldnt be a default option in the windows PCSX2!

portaudio works in most cases and if you get no sound, you can go in to the port audio configuration (the button under the output module selector) and tick "Exclusive Mode" that will then make the sound work.

Don't know why some sound cards do that, they just do.

Hm, exclusive mode shouldn't be needed.

Portaudio should pick the correct generic sound card for defaults and from the log, it looks like it does:
*** Device 5: 'Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)' (Windows WASAPI) (selected)

I've no idea why it doesn't give any sound though. Maybe the latency is getting misconfigured?

If it was latency the exclusive mode wouldn't help

Every time I download a new SVN it changes port audio to "Default Device" under Device name (in the configure menu). I have about 4 HD options to choose from but I have to choose the M420NV -4 (NVidia High Definition Audio) or I get no sound either.
Wasapi exclusive mode doesn't have to be checked that way but I do because I understand it can keep sound from stuttering.

Have you tried making your M420NV the default audio device for windows?
