Vista, if you have a graphics card that supports DirectX10.
As GSDX's DirectX10 mode is generally more accurate and faster than its DirectX9 mode.

So, pcsx2 faster in vista+dx10 than xp+dx9. How about running xp+dx10? There was an unofficial dx10. Btw, which vista would be the best? professional, business, home...ultimate etc...?

I think vista 64bit sp.1 is the best with good grapich card like 8800gt 512 mb or HD3870 512mb.
Notebook ASUS A43TA|CPU AMD Llano APU A6-3400m Triple core (1 core disable) OC to 2.6+Ghz|GPU CF|HD 6520 400Mhz/667Mhz iGPU|HD6650M OC 780Mhz/985Mhz dGPU|RAM 8GB DDR3 1333|Windows 7 Ultimate Sp.1 x64 bit.
>> Emulation speed differs for each game. There will be some you can run fast easily, but others will simply require more powerfull hardware <<.

Vista 32-bit should of never been made. It's a waste considering you can get 4 gigs of ram for $20 these days.

why vista 64bit when pcsx2 is 32bit application? I know there was pcsx2 64bit, but AFAIK the 64bit version was buggy.

As for which version in the best it depends on what you need. Though the general consensus is stay away from home basic.

Ouch. Oh if you are a university student you can get Vista ultimate 32/64-bit for $65 digital download. With like an extra 15 dollars if you want both a disk and a download backup. I just took the deal like 2 weeks ago. It's also the red addition which means some money of your perchase goes to help aids victims in africa and you get a few special backgrounds and such for it.
