It could be worth grabbing the latest Git/Development build and trying that as that tried to use your discrete graphics card automatically.

Side note: HT doesn't really help emulation, treat it as though you are using 2 cores.

I've never had pcsx2 max out any cores outside of software rendering. even with ee at 100%, core usage is never above 50%

I've seen it as high as 80% but thread synchronization keeps it from fully maxing,

Is anyone else experiencing slowdowns in pcsx2 software after the vc2015 update? It used to run fullspeed all the time with software mode on my 6700K but after the update, it runs like im not using any extra threads even though my cpu usage is at 50% with HT on

Dude you already have a thread about this and attempting to hijack other people's threads to get more attention is rude.

You've already been told nothing can be done until someone else with your CPU tests and confirms.

But I saw gamerx1990 with the same cpu except he's using windows 7. I'm trying to figure out if this is a win10 issue or a skylake issue

It does indeed appear he has that CPU, perhaps send him a PM about it, but it's not relevant to this thread.

I'm trying again with another system (windows 10 this time) - latest build of pcsx2.

i7 720QM
ATi 5770 Mobility
4GB RAM
Windows 10 Home (x64)
Alienware M15x R1 (2011)

Ace Combat Zero: extreme stutter on hangar (GSDX 9 video only 60%)

This program is more demanding than I thought it would be....

emulations is  alot more demending then native pc  programs, 1:2 ~ 1:10 ratio of more power needed, i think that is recently what was said by the devs, and that cpu has stp of 890 which well below the recommend stp which i think is 1200 that might of rasied recently though, and each game will have diffrent needs in term of power.

Short of making sure you laptop pluged in and it set to max performance, probably not much to be done

The current recommended STP is either 1500+ or 1600+ and the more demanding games need 2000+ STP if not 2300+ STP so yeah 890 just will NOT cut it. Heck my i5 2520m which has an STP of roughly 1500 has slowdowns on the weaker games so yeah.
