PCSX2 freetzes PC completely
#1
In remember to this thread: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Emulator-...s-computer

I also get this problem. The PC completely freeze. Ctrl+Alt+Del or similar hotkeys also do nothing anymore.

I the thread above, there is an idea, that it could go into direction of gfx card or its driver.

Maybe it has something to do with graphics. I get this issue playing Kingdome Hearts 1 and 2.

In KH2 I giot this only one time, as i was leveling the master form.

In KH1 my son gets this really often. He is actually at the island at the beginning. He is not as fast as me, so he is long time on this island now. Here we had 3 freezes in the last hours.

It only appears, when I am a long time at the same place (leveling forms or something like).

When i go through the story, where maps and so on get updated frequently, there is no freeze at all.

Maybe it helps a little bit.

This threat was meant as FYI.

Look at the Dolphin forum. There is a more friendly noise for user feedback.

hem... Not sure I understand what you meant.
If you want to make a "feedback" or let's say a "bug report", Then follow the bug report template and it'll be helpful.
Actually, I don't see what your thread has to do with Dolphin ...

System instability can also cause freezes if you hardware are dying, unstable overclock, corrupted OS, etc.

ok i recently encountered something that could be your problem, i raised my clock to 4.0Ghz and raised vcore accordingly, ran prime95 for few hours, and everything was stable, i run pcsx2 and pc completely freezes, doesn't even go to blue screen like it usually does when cpu overclock is unstable, obvious problem is unstable overclock, even after hours of prime95 which loads the cpu more than anything else, hope this helps you, if you overclocked cpu, this could be your problem as well, try to revert to stock clocks and try if pcsx2 still freezes your pc

Not more than IntelBurnTest/Linpack, I stopped using prime95 as a reference for stability when it failed to catch instability like that, IntelBurnTest does much better.
