try adjusting your power settings some (I'll play on Xp later (it's not on this pc, I need to get the other pc in the house to look at) and find out exactly what to change, but you should look at your own too)

I tried Saiki but no change. Hopefully, you can let me know what worked for you!

I have the same problem but it's not only on the 1st time after I restart my comp.It happens at random every time when I try to run pcsx2.

Since it happens randomly I have no idea what I try really fix the problem.Could it be one of those:
1.I don't use memory cards(it happens when I do too)
2.I always use INTC Sync Hack and EEx2(it happens when I don't use them too)
3.Maybe the sound plugin or some settings of the sound plugin has something to do with this but it freezes when it's loading GSdx.
4.Maybe the Pad plugin.

perhaps its a HDD access issue? the second time you would run pcsx2, it comes from your ram. just a thought, but maybe run a nice defrag on your hdd or upgrade it. (if its old)

RAM : Corsair Vengeance 8x8GB 1603MHz 1.60v

It is a little old (like maybe 2 years) but I'm super anal about defraging it.
