PCSX2 latest build 1.5 + psx mode for Parasite Eve
#1
PCSX2 manages to boot up Parasite Eve, but the cut scenes play at an accelerated rate.  I'm kinda fine with that, some took way too long and couldn't be skipped anyway xD  However, when entering the first fight scene, the screen goes all wonky and the sound starts to skip/repeat, basically crashing.  Has anyone played with the settings to figure out how to get Parasite Eve to work with PCSX2 yet?

Can't speak for this game in particular but there is a healthy list of things to do to get PSX games to run pretty well. In your case, make sure you are using a software renderer, and try switching IOP to interpreter.

it is very possible the game just isn't going to work right. PSX mode is an offhand feature that doesn't get much attention and not much has been done to fix some timing issues under the hood. Regardless, some of us who do keep tabs on it would like to know in this thread how it runs, and the original post has some other PSX mode tips that may help in case all else fails: https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PSX-Mode...ility-List

Edit: I should add that FMV speed, graphics and audio are messed up due to a DMA timing issue. Quite simply, there's nothing you can do about it at this time.

Edit 2: Here is a huge wall of text I wrote detailing every PSX mode recommendation I have, probably should merge this with the compatibility thread... https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2-an...#pid583219
