PCSX2 misreads left stick movement as dpad movement and vice versa.

Heyo, new user here and it's as it says. I have a dx playstation ® 3 controller connected to my pc through a cord that takes the og playstation plugin into a usb. mapped the controls myself but when i hit forward on dpad it's only moves me forward, doesn't do what's assigned to forward on the d-pad. I also did have troubles mapping the analog sticks direction. can i get a hand?

I also have noticed that my commands or whatever for the d-pad is the same fo the left analog stick even though i assigned them to the proper seperate buttons.
IE, left oin d-pad is X-Axis -. Left on left analog stick is also X-Axis -.
