So, I mounted Mercenaries POD and it works at staggering 30-35 FPS but I have no sound at all.

In Spu2-X try to configure with DirectSound and mode 1-Linear , maybe can help......
In Gsdx plugin try to use DX11 or Opengl in hardware mode.....

Yes that solved my problem....but the sound is slow(like the game) and its choppy edit: The sound slowed down the FPS by about 5-10 BUT only for fist 10 minutes, its back to normal again... about 35-40 fps is there any way i can increase my FPS? im using DX11 software mode since the game cannot even start at hardware mode.

As it says, it's laggy. You can use Async Mix for the sound to work better.
