PCSX2 not running!
#1
Hello,

I was playing Ace Combat Distant thunder yesterday and it all of a sudden stopped working and know I seem unable to run any games.

Host Machine Init:
Operating System =  Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Physical RAM     =  15561 MB
CPU name         =  Intel® Core™ i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Vendor/Model     =  GenuineIntel (stepping 03)
Geforce GTX 580 graphics card.

I don't seem to be able to run any Disc Image files although I can run .bin files but nothing has changed from before. Is there anything else I could be missing?

Whenever I try to run a disc image file it just freezes any just doesn't even start up the loading screen.

The below log is all that it says, I have un-installed PCSX2 and re-downloaded it but to no avail.

The log you posted is the full log after the crash? So you extracted it from the logs folder?

Again, you can run .bin files but not .iso files?

Can you move the image files you want to load but fail?

No I can't move them

If you can not move the files there is some handle open on them. Please restart your pc and try again.

(or if you don't like restarting play with taskmanager or better process explorer to find the process blocking the file - probably some zombie pcsx2.exe - and kill it.)

I have restarted numerous times and in task manager there is no other PCSX2.exe process' open

Is it still able to run from original discs ?
What if you try to redump from your original disc ?

have you got the .bin files mounted with daemon tools or something? or is your antivirus scanning them? as that will lock it

IIRC process explorer can tell you which file is opened by which program.

It is not no.

The only thing that seems to come up when I close it down is the following:

Image type = Audio CD
* CDVD Disk Open: DVD, Single layer or unknown:
* * Track 1: Data (Mode 1) (1467505 sectors)
(IsoFS) Invalid partition descriptor encountered at block 0x10: ''

It says it can't find the root directory. Is it where I'm storing the file?

I would guess that the error message is either not completely correct or not very helpful. As long as you can not move your own files on your own pc from one folder to another there is something wrong. You need to solve that issue. Then you can run pcsx2 again.
