You have the PPA as an option...actually, the best option. But you can always try to compile it yourself. However, Ubuntu's multiarch system will still have you run into dependency hell at certain parts.
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
(I am no longer a Windows user)
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti
