It's been a year or so since I've checked in on this community. Got all excited today when I saw the release of v1.2.1. Unfortunately, not much seems to have changed with this game's performance. Yes, we all know about the reddish Lost Forest and that it's lag hell, but my concern regards the in-battle freezing I'm getting in the underground passage to Dipan.
I've tried flipping back and forth between DX11 software and hardware modes, makes no difference. I made sure to disable all speed hacks and hardware hacks (running PS2 native resolution), same result.
Anyone else have any tips on the optimal settings?
My specs: 4th gen i7 3.40GHz, Nvidia GTX 660 3GB GDDR5, 32GB RAM

I've implemented the configuration listed on the Wiki site, would using a different plugin for optical drive make any difference, or mounting the ISO on a virtual drive?
EDIT: Here's the error I'm getting (EE pc:0042E1F0) TLB Miss, addr=0x158 [store]

If this the error you getting with iso image, then re rip it with imgburn. If you using disc in a drive, then there disc is at fault and making iso of it with imgburn probably wont fix it.
I run the game with lil slow down here and there in some battles, You system should run it even better. Short of the few bugs that are listed on the wiki

Truth is, I've had those tlb misses myself in some tests. For now I recommend trying an older PCSX2 version.
