PCSX2 specs needed, how do my current specs hold up?

Mac Mini 2018

CPU: Intel "Coffe Lake" i7 8700B 3.2 GHz 6 Core Processor
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
RAM: 32gb
HD: 1TB SSD

I know the integrated graphics card is a no go for emulation. I plan on finding a cheap used AMD Radeon™ RX 580 8gb GDDR5 eGPU to connect to my Mac Mini via thunderport 3 to upgrade the internal graphics that came with my Mac.

Is my CPU good enough to run PCSX2 smoothly? Also, is the RX 580 eGPU a good supplement over my computers internal graphics for PCSX2? Im not looking to spend a ton of money on this eGPU because outside of PCSX2 and OpenEmu for older systems, I dont actually PC game. But if the RX 580 isn't sufficient, what is the next cheapest AMD graphics card that one would suggest? (It has to be an AMD since apple doesn't support Nvidia eGPU's for some reason)

easily powerful enough. however here's where something will surprise you:

As long as you don't care a bunch about upscale, you can use the CPU in software mode, and you won't need a GPU to run the games (at least at native resolution) there are some threads comparing threads on multi-core CPUs against native GPU acceleration.

here's my own thread on it:
