Which is better for better hd graphics and resolution, a pcsx2 emulator with a powerful cpu and gpu or a ps2 console and modchip and a component cable and an app that forces progressive scan?

We can upscale far higher than the PS2 could ever dream of. We can use MSAA and FXAA. We can force texture filtering.
