PCSXE2 on Intel i3-7100u laptop
#1
Hello, it is nice to be a part of this wonderful community. By the way, I have installed PCSX2 on my windows 10 i3-7100u laptop with 4gb of ram and an integrated GPU of Intel HD 620, I was able to play silent hill 2, 3, resident evil 4 and resident evil code veronica x with 60fps using the lowest possible settings.

however, when I tried to load GTA San Andreas and Bully using the lowest graphical settings possible, the fps drops to almost 30 to 40fps and almost makes the whole game experience like I was in slow motion.

Is there any hack that I can do to fix this? Hoping for your kindest advise and assistance.

your CPU is a bit weak for pcsx2. you can still make sure you aren't running on batteries, and set your windows power plan to performance mode.
BU better keep playing on your real PS console until you can afford a better CPU
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Hello Jesalvein, thank you so much for your response, I thought it can run games well since the minimum STR for windows 10 I found recorded on this website is 2000STR and the STR of i3-7100u is 3700STR, I thought that would be enough?.

I borrowed some of my friends old ps2 cd's and rip it into an ISO then tried to load it on the pcsx2, do ypu think i did something wrongon the process of ripping that is why there are some lags on the game?

since we actually recommend 1800 as a bare minimum, 1357 isn't enough, definitely.

That definitely make sense for me, I misunderstood it. Thank you so much for pointing it out to me, by the way, can you please give the website name on where you got that result?

But 1800 as a bare minimum...I can play demanding games on my 1800stp i7-6700HQ just fine which I intentionally keep it working below his best performance.
There are plenty of games that are piece of cake for it.

You could says 1800 is recommended for 3D games but not a bare minimum

1800 is generally a good %90 number. 90% of the games generally run at 90% (or higher) speed, 90% of the time. The demanding games/areas generally make up the last 10ish or so. There are lots of games that run with much less.

Though for the OP the PC ports of San Andreas and Bully run really really well on even weaker hardware then OP's laptop and have some graphical improvements over the PS2 version. Might be worth a look, both are generally cheap to get multiple places.
