Multiarch is Ubuntu 11.10 is incomplete. You need Ubuntu 12.04. So mint13 (maya). Debian doesn't have yet the full support of multiarch. So mint based on Debian won't work neither.

Well, I was thiking about upgraiding to Maya, and this is just another reason to actually do it.
Will try again after installing Maya then. Will post results here.

Reporting.
Installing PCSX2 from PPA went smoothly on Linux Mint 13 Maya. Everything seems to be allright.
Except it freezes every time on GS plugin initialization, but that's the problem on my side I guess. I am running it on my old and good laptop with Intel 965 graphic card on board, so, no surprise it refuses to show me anything.

For the GS plugins try zzogl. Otherwise yes your card is not supported Wink

Well, I have some perfomance related problems emulating even PS1 games on it, so I guess it won't be any use anyway. I think I'll wait till I get to my PC instead. But thanks for advice.)
