PS3 controller detected, unable to receive input

I have recently tried using my old Playstation 3 controller to play some games using PCSX2, cant receive any input however. I've already tried looking into why and jstest seemed to have the same issue. The controller is indeed being correctly detected, but nothing gets through. 

Excuse my lack of knowledge in this field, I just wanted to revive some old games I had lying around.

Forgot to mention that I run the emulator through Lutris. The version that shipped with it was pretty old, about 1.7 or something. Already updated.
