PSOne Dithering OFF patches

I've seen some PS2 games do it, but its not consistent. Maybe only within in-game cutscenes like GTA San Andreas.

@ShaolinAssasin

I have a question about finding the correct dithering codes for the PS1 games using no$psx.
For example I found a code 8009505C that is suppose to be the code to remove dithering but when I search for that code in the bottom debugger window it finds 80095050 instead. I change 02 to 00 and it removes the dithering.
Would the code for Gameshark be 8009505C 0000 or 80095050 0000? I don't have the physical disc for this one and I can't play backups on the PS1, I think my laser is not calibrated correctly.

Thanks.

Guys, I realised this morning I misinterpreted Chris' guide when working on Soul Reaver.

See the life hud element at the bottom right.

Result given by E1 tool for this element is : 8002B284 0000 // E1000620 ?

Now, codes from top to bottom :

Image 1 : 8002B284 0620 (dither ON)
Image 2 : 8002B284 0000 = current patch method
Image 3 : 8002B284 0020 = correct patch method

Conclusion : when we want to patch to remove the dithering in 8002B284 0000 // E1000620, we keep the 20 and only replace the 06 by 00.

I did not see that before, because I misread Chris examples. Example Ridge Racer (JP), correct code is 80046468 0000.
E1 tool for this game gives : 80046468 0000 // E1001000 ?
I thought he replaced 1000 by 0000. But actually, he only replaced 10 by 00. The green zeros remain untouched - but since 00 = 00, it does not cause any problem.

I will update the tutorial later.

I'm not sure to understand. Can you give me E1 tool result and a no$psx screenshot of the HEX window ?

Croc Legend of Gabbos NTSC U

I search for 80057A5C in the Hex window and it finds 80057A50. I change 02 to 00 and it removes dithering.
Would the code be 80057A5C 0000 or 80057A50 0000?
I added the attachments below with the E1 tool result and hex window image.

Thanks

Using your no$cash screenshot modified :

80057A5C 0000 // 0200

Or with E1 tool result :

80057A5C 0000 // E1000200 ?
