PSOne Widescreen Patches
Any idea if anyone has gotten these widescreen codes to run on real hardware? I tried looking for a working version of Gameshark to run on a ps2 to play psx games, but no luck. If anyone has ideas that would be great.
My goal would be to play PSX games with widescreen codes on a PS2. Preferably with original game discs.

Thanks

Well, if you don't find a solution, you can use POPS & POPStarter and use it's cheat engine (WS codes work, I use it).

What did you use to run the codes with the games? Did you use original game discs or ISOs?

Thanks

Crash Bash Aspect Ratio Modifier:
80051638 XXXX
8005163C YYYY
The values are XXXX divided by YYYY in hex. Only controls horizontal aspect.

Also who wants to help figure out widescreen for Pandemonium. I was able to at best get non-billborded objects and the environment in widescreen.

Compile with armips with the SLUS_002.32 file in the same folder as the .s file. run armips with the path to the .s file as its only parameter to compile. You can extract the SLUS_002.32 file with cdmage.

@gamemasterplc, this code works great, even with the "ultrawide method"! It looks very cool at that aspect ratio, and since at least the NTSC-U version has no apparent ovescan bars, it would look great in a 21:9 monitor, because it would be fullscreen with no apparent stretching. I already did a video of the PAL port of Pandemonium!, since that seems to be a great port, running at full 50 FPS without being slowed down at all, and that already has the "PAL aspect ratio", which is wider, but actually squished, due to the 288p resolution. I might do one with the NTSC-U version using this code, since it looks much better.
