This probably doesn't fit on this thread in a way, but here's a cool trick:
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (NTSC-U) Ultrawide:
This is what happens when I mix the widescreen cheat with the widescreen GTE hack in PCSXR-PGXP XD. Of course, I edited out those overscan bars, so it's actually wider than a 21:9 aspect ratio (around 2.52:1). But, I don't actually have a 21:9 monitor, only a 4:3 17" CRT, so it makes no sense for me to be playing like this... It's cool anyways!
Here's some comparison shots, with 4:3, 16:9 and 21:9, but all with those overscan bars removed (not stretched, only compensated, so the aspects are a little wider):
The widescreen GTE hack does not stretch the HUD, like the cheat does:
PGXP removes the wobbling and actually alleviates some of the texture culling on the sides, but sadly, not everything. I hope PCSX2 have this enhancement added for PSX emulation some day.
