The first intro runs fine but the game can't get past the second intro without crashing the application. I've tried to boot it up multiple times and i still experience the same issue. I have a current-gen macbook pro and so far haven't experienced this issue with the other ps2 games i play it on. Is this a fixable problem and if so, how should i fix it?

The way you named your file doesn't count.
I was thinking about the verify button

Right click on your game in the game list->properties
The verify button should be there

Ok. Emulog Time, then.
Tools->enable file logging
Then play until it crashes, don't reopen pcsx2, and get the emuog.txt.(should be in pcsx2 data folder, in "logs" subfolder)
