Part of that too, is that when I pick up an object, the ball acts like the object is there, but it doesn't show up visually. Any ideas?

well, these graphical glitches should go away if both microvus are enabled, it works for me. could you post a screenshot of your "config->cpu"?

MTGS is not what i meant. i meant the new recompiler for the vertex units, called "microvu". as bositman already stated, get the latest beta of pcsx2 and plugins from this forum, then you'll have two new options under "VU0rec" and "VU1rec", these enable the new microvu recompiler. then try again. and you can probably reenable MTGS.

I know you didn't mean MTGS. I disabled it earlier because I don't have a dual core. I updated everything, and the weird geometry issue is gone, but once I start a level now, the game screen is black with a few rare instances of video.

ok, good Smile do you use speed hacks for the game? if yes, try it without them.

Even with speed hacks it looks like your processor might simply not be up to par; people with 2.4ghz dual core processors usually just barely get by, so if after extensive tweaking you still experience lag issues, I would suggest a new processor. A very nice Athlon X2 could be had for $60 or so these days.
