Performance problem with ATI-5000 series
#11
You may be right, I heard that some N64 graphics plugins had similar issues, but that was a long time ago...
8-bit textures are indeed problematic, FFX slows down considerably in menus when that option is enabled, so could you tell me what that option would be useful for?
I'm not sure if your questions about settings and driver erasure are directed to me or OP...

Oops yeah that was to the OP, confused that quote :P

The 8-bit textures are good for some games but causes problem for others and overall it should stay off except for few games, when you get extreme slowdown due to GSdx in some games it could help, could also do the opposite though.

Thanks to the new GSdX beta the emulator runs much better already. But it still doesn runs as good as it should. I think that the force AA and Vsync might be at fault.
I tried to disable them in the Catalyst Control Center but they cant be deactivated as there is no such option at all. Does anybody knows how to disable those features?

Oh and thanks for the replies so far.

That is irrelevant, I don't think GSdx uses GDI or Direct2D in any way.

I don't think that's the only bug in those drivers Tongue

It's not just a problem with Direct2D, the lack of 2D acceleration also applies for Direct3D.

So the problem may be solved with the new driver. Nothing left but to wait then...
