My actual point was that, theoretically, running the game from a USB device will slightly impact performance of a constantly streaming game, because CPU resources are being allocated to the file transfer. I'm not certain how much impact it would have, but I imagine that if the machine was already stressed by the game, USB file transfer overheads wouldn't help.

usb overheads are minimal, i cant pretend to knowhow much exactly but most of it whould be handled by the USB controller
if were talking about a single or even dual core CPU, yes it may impact, but these arent really ideal for PCSX2 anyway
quad core CPU and any USB overhead is offloaded to an unused core = no problem
