Persona 3 FES
#1
i got the game now, and i saw it runs well on PCSX2, but i get casual slowdowns, and the sound is kinda choppy.

spec:
Intel C2D e6300 1.8Ghz
Geforce 9800GT 512MB
1GB RAM (i know i know)

PCSX2 rev1888 BETA
GDSX 0.1.15
SPU2-x 1.2.0

can some1 give me good configs to run this smooth and without choppy sound?

Show us your current settings so we can help better.

You have a slow CPU so you can't expect full speed all the time.

I'm looking to optimize Persona 3 as well.
specs:
AMD Athlon 2 x4 620 processor...my roommate overclocked it to 3.2 ghz i think
ati radeo hd 4600
4 gigs ram
I'm using pcx2 0.9.6, just the basic stuff I download off the site. I was trying to get the beta version to work, but it kept giving me an error with the CD plugin so I gave up. I've played the game for some time now, but I get really nasty slowdown sometimes, and during some battles the framerate is around 30-40 while other times I'm getting a solid 60.

Checking the "Allow 8-bit textures" box in GDSx helps some for Persona 3 -though for the OP it will not be possible to get full speed most of the time.

Yeah I just noticed i forgot my current settings. I'm using GDSx 890 (MSVC 15.00 SSE2) 0.1.14. I have it set to Direct 3D 10 hardware, no interlacing, and the only box i can check is for 'wait vsync', which I have unchecked. Is the "Allow 8-bit textures" box in another version of the plugin?

I put in the new plugins and its a big improvement, thanks! With my computers specs is it still normal to see the framerate drop to 40ish in some areas of the game?

Yeah it is. You should also use the latest PCSX2 beta (1888) found here for a speedup: http://pcsx2.net/downloads.php?p=publicbeta
