Persona 3 FES FPS issues
#1
Hi! I've just recently downloaded pcsx2 and tried Persona 3 FES. However, I usually get some lag issues particularly with the dropping and skyrocketing of my fps. These are the things that occur:

1. During dialogues, specifically at the school gate, the fps drops.
2. When shifting from day to night, it boosts too more than 100fps.
3. When summoning the Persona then the evoker, it drops to 20fps. However, when the Persona uses a skill, it shoots to 50fps.
4. There were times when characters get bald issues. Must be the graphics O_O

I think it's with the configuration, but as I've said I'm new in using pcsx2. I would really appreciate it if someone helps me. My computer specs are as follows:

OS: W7
Processor: AMD Athlon™II X2 250 Processor 3.00GHz
Installed RAM: 4GB
System type: 64-bit

Get the latest PCSX2 1.0

The Persona games works best the less speedhacks/HW hacks you have. Use D3D11 Hardware if you could, then enable 8-bit textures and texture filtering (if you can handle it), ENABLE THE FRAME LIMITER to avoid jumping over 60fps (50fps if PAL). As for speedhacks, only enable MTVU.

Play around with the internal res and see which your PC can run better.

videocard?
you also have frame limiter disabled f4 will fix this for you if you play the game.

you probably have a weak videocard to emulate properly so get a beter videocard if you want less lag.

id say stick to your ps2 for now Tongue

The bald issue drove me crazy. Find the skipdraw hack and set it to 1-10 and problem solved.

@ProBunta, I'm already using PCSX2 1.0. How do I get d3d11?

@WarWeeny I'm not sure how I will know what my videocard is. I'm not actually allowed to use the ps2 at the moment because of some hand issues, ahaha

@J, okay, will do that Smile

run dxdiag--->hit the "display" tab
then you see what video card is.

If possible, you can use D3D11 (requires you to have DirectX11), which may be more compatible with your Graphics Card (which you haven't listed). Just check the emulator's console for your PC specs.
