Persona 4 Unstable FPS Issue
#1
Heyah everyone, I have been playing Persona 4 recently on the latest beta of PCSX2 (r1888, 0.9.6, something like that), and it was running very smoothly up until now. Suddenly right out of the blue the FPS starts going up and down like a rollercoaster ride. I am not kidding, sometimes when I'm fighting against enemies the fps can be as low as 35-40 and suddenly sky rocket to almost 70. Although, I have noticed in the log that there are 4 error messages that has shown up since the FPS issue started:

DVCI: File cache was not hit. ''\DATA.CVM;1''
DVCI: File cache was not hit. ''\BGM.CVM;1''
DVCI: File cache was not hit. ''\BTL.CVM;1''
DVCI: File cache was not hit. ''\ENV.CVM;1''

I really hope that you guys could help find an answer to my problem since this really, really, REALLY is a good game and I really want to play it.

(Sorry if my English is a little off, I'm Swedish)

Yes, I know, but before those messages happened, it ran smoothly no matter what. My PC is quite a strong machine:

Radeon 5970 HD 2048mb
Intel Core i7 930 (2,8 GHZ, Quadcore)
Corsair 6gb (3x2048mb), 2ghz

But thanks anyways Wink

Please show all your pcsx2 settings if you seek help, and bumping doesn't help.

Sorry but I don't know exactly as how to show you them.

I have every plugin in default (except controllers), does that help? Smile (No speedhacks on)

i told you what to do.... read my post above this. also dont let them at default, use the latest one or there is no point in installing the march plugins.

@iakoboss7 It didn't help remaking the iso. I also removed all PCSX2 related files and reinstalled it. Still the FPS won't control itself.

Maybe I'm doomed? D:

You are using Windows XP, Vista or 7?
and You are using GSDX 2693 or 1873 as graphic plugin?
In GSDX configuration, you are using Direct3D 10 hardware?
In cpu, check if you have frame limiting set to limit

Do you have your video card updated to the latest driver?
What area you are in that causes that drop of fps?
Your game version is Pal or NTSC?

IIRC, NTSC seems to run fine, and I am not sure about Pal. If you happen to have NTSC-U, you can upload the save and I can try it out. I played mine using ps2, so I am not sure how the game is run exactly in pcsx2. Some others suggest that there are certain areas that may cause slow down though I am not sure what areas.
