Playstation 3 Controller Problem

Hey everyone, was wondering if anybody could help me out with an issue I have using my PS3 controller for the emulator.

Basically the controller will either not be detected when it's plugged in to my laptop or if it does get detected, the Player 1 light will repeatedly flash red on an interval of 2 - 3 seconds and none of the functions would be responsive in-game. I would presume the cause of this was the fact that I had to continuously disconnect and reconnect the controller as I was at a LAN event the night before.

Unfortunately PS3 controllers are not just plug and play. You're going to need a program for that, my recommendation would be the DS3 tool. Works great with the emulator and also lets you use it as an Xbox controller for PC games.
