Poor performance in Odin Sphere.

Athlon IIx3 at 3.4 ghz, 4 gb ram, HD4770, 1280x1024, W7 64bit SP1.

GSdx9, native resolution

Latest PCSX2 version, 0.9.8

I know this game is supposed to run bad even on an actual ps2, but I want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong. The game becomes almost unplayable during intense fight scenes, but I also get slowdowns in moments with no battles at all.

I tried all the default speed hacks that the emulator comes with on every setting, but that makes no difference, or at least I didn't notice any.

Halp.

My PC spec:

CPU : E2220 (2,4Ghz)
GPU : Geforce 9600Gt
...

I running this game ta nearly fullspeed ~60fps

You should try Gsdx DX10, and the important is "Allow 8-bit textures"; It speed up the game from 35 ~ 40fps to ~60fps

Ah, nice! This did the trick.

I thought I read somewhere that "allow 8 bit textures" slowed performance, and so I never bothered to try it out.
